Newest Style for Room-Darkening Shades

More and more, customers throughout the San Francisco area are looking for different options for room-darkening shades. Bedrooms are an obvious application for light-blocking window coverings, and many homeowners and business operators are also installing them to get the most out of high-tech media rooms. At Blinds & Designs, we’re happy to announce a new option for room-darkening shades — the Silhouette® A Deux. Combining a Silhouette shading in front with a room darkening roller shade in the back on a single headrail, A Deux is the latest innovation from Hunter Douglas. Watch this video to learn more:

Room Facing Side: Silhouette Sheer Shades

On the room-facing side of the A Deux system is the beautiful Silhouette sheer shade. The vanes of Silhouette® window shades magically float between two sheers. Simply tilt the vanes to achieve your desired level of light and privacy. With sheer facings, you can view through the vanes to the outside, while maintaining a discreet level of privacy. Silhouette shades are available in a wide variety of colors and fabrics. The sheers soften sunlight to create warmth without too much brightness. Choose from 2” and 3” vane Silhouette fabrics, including Alustra products, to be paired with a room-darkening roller shade option.

Behind the Sheers: Light Blocking Roller Shades

A high quality Hunter Douglas roller shade sits behind the Silhouette sheer shade. You can enjoy complete room darkening when you want it, and the raise the roller shade when you want light. It’s perfect for media rooms and bedrooms! Roller shades also protect your furniture, flooring and artwork from fading with at least 75% protection from harmful UV rays.

Mix and Match Operating Systems

With the A Deux system, you have several options for operating your shades. Use the same operating system front and back, or mix and match with one operating system on the roller shade and one operating system on the Silhouette. Choose from:

• EasyRise: Pulling down on the front of our EasyRise™ continuous loop lowers your window fashion. Pulling on the rear of the loop raises it.
• LiteRise: Our LiteRise® cordless system lets you simply push up with your hand to raise and pull down to lower. Your blinds and shades stay right where you put them.
• PowerRise; Our PowerRise® motorized lifting system allows you to easily raise or lower individual window shades and shadings.
