The Popular Soft Shade

Solera® Soft Shades

One of our most popular window treatments, shades come in a variety of options. Soft fabric shades are often sought-after by Blinds & Designs clients here in San Francisco.

Here are some of the basic types.

  • Hunter Douglas Designer Roller Shades roll up compactly when opened. When lowered, they offer unique design options you won’t find anywhere else. Our unique line of roller shades will bring a sophisticated and refreshing look to any room.
  • A classic un-pleated fabric shade, Roman Shades have been a mainstay in window fashions for decades. With a large smooth fold, stiff battens to provide structure, and sewn tunnels that keep battens from slipping out, Hunter Douglas Roman Shades are functional and attractive. Custom, quality craftsmanship includes an innovative cording system for enhanced child safety and clear rings that coordinate with all linings and sheers. All hems are double-turned for a custom finished look, with bottom hems weighted for a smooth appearance.
  • If you want privacy in a room without it feeling dark and unpleasant, Pleated Shades are perfect. Our customers love pleated shades for the large variety of colors and fabrics they’re offered in. Their fabric is folded into pleats that are held together with a string that operates the shade up and down. The downside to pleated shades is the strings and the holes the strings go through, which can let in unwanted light.
  • Honeycomb shades have a honeycomb pleat in a variety of opacities that offers great light and privacy control. They also have the option of top-down/bottom-up lifting system. The various types of Hunter Douglas honeycomb shades come in a variety of fabrics and colors, and many are highly energy-efficient. These shades can often be the best to custom-cut to specialty window shapes.
